Here is what you told us
For those of us that were (or are still being) significantly let down because there was zero thought for those already in the system – just improving it for new joiners – the memories of the desperation, the interactions with DCC, Childrens Social Care and CAMHS, the damage to the young person and family around them it never leaves.
One of the things that I’ve found most challenging is the amount of time and effort you have to put in to the processes up front, with no understanding at this stage of how little support is available at the other end.
Frustration with an unnavigable system feeds into parental stress, which is widely known to have a detrimental impact on children. I’m hoping it’ll be adjusted to be more pragmatic and proportionate in future, and less stressful for everyone involved
The amount of stress that we as a family have been under, I wouldnt wish on my worst enemy!!
EHCP both reviews good.
Having the same CW for both kids works better for us.
It’s about time that the narrative changed so it makes a difference to the young people and parents and carers in the system already.
