Every Pair Tells a Story – a national campaign.

Yesterday families across the UK left empty shoes outside council offices to symbolise the thousands of children being failed by the SEND system.

Julia and Caroline (two of the directors of PCFD) attended a meeting at county hall yesterday morning. As we were leaving we paused to view the pairs of shoes outside the main reception entrance.

It was a very moving sight to see all those shoes on the steps, and to read some of the cards attached, each one bearing the name of a young person and often a part of their now all too familiar heartbreaking stories.

We are all working in our different ways with the goal to improve experience and outcomes for children with SEND and their families.

Parent Carer Forums like PCFD receive funding that have rules against participating in campaign activity themselves, though PCFD can share information and experiences with campaigns if they align with our core work.
