Here’s what you told us

Families described communication as:

  • Exhausting
  • Anxiety‑provoking
  • Confusing
  • Like talking into a void
  • At times, traumatising

Many said they feel ignoredleft in the dark, or unsure who to contact.

  • Inconsistent updates (e.g. consults appear on the Hub but no email)
  • Important documents landing late on a Friday afternoon
  • No acknowledgement of emails / no idea if anyone has seen them
  • No visible caseworker or EHCP partner details on the Hub anymore
  • Long waits for phone calls back
  • Replies that don’t answer the question sent
  • Confusing consultation process
  • Hub-only communication excluding schools and visually impaired users
  • Feeling invisible: “I wish someone reached out to me.”
  1. An automatic acknowledgement email with a clear reply timescale.
  2. Caseworker/EHCP Partner names + contact details visible on the Hub.
  3. Consistent updates when a stage moves forward (especially consultations).
  4. Stop sending major updates late on Fridays or right before holidays.
  5. Alternative communication routes for those who cannot use the Hub.
